Skin Health Program

Metabolic Therapies introduces it's Skin Health Program to optimize skin function and appearance.

Research shows that acne is an inflammation of the skin as a result of internal stress on the liver and gall bladder function. This stress is largely caused by a compromised ability for the body to use fats effectively. Diet is a primary factor in the inhibition of fat utilization. Primarily, the over consumption of carbohydrates (both simple and complex) is a key factor in problem skins and other inflammatory disorders due to their interference with the body's ability to process fats. The body for energy uses carbohydrates for one to two hours after being ingested. The remaining carbohydrate is turned into saturated fats and cholesterol by the liver. This forces the body to be geared toward making saturated fats and cholesterol, rather than using fats for energy and unsaturating fats for anti-inflammatory
respones. This in turn leads to numerous types of inflammation in the body, including acne, dermatitis, rashes, etc. Fat assimilation is a key factor in a woman's hormonal process. Not only is fat used to manufacture estrogen in later years, but it is also one of the primary components for a healthy hormonal system throughout a woman's lifetime. This is why women who lose too much weight often cease to have menstrual cycles. So, when a woman's fat metabolism is impaired, so too is her hormonal process.
